Glaschu Gaels GFC
Glaschu Gaels - known to most as Glasgow Gaels - are Glasgow's premier Gaelic Football club and after many years as a 'nomad' club serving as a host to Irish diaspora and many other nationalities based across the city (and beyond) have now set their roots in the Clydebank area.
Glaschu Gaels GFC and charity (SC046552) was formed in 1999 and has quickly become a GAA sporting aestablishment in Scotland that is a bedrock for families and people living in Glasgow and for people of all nationalities wanting join the Gaelic football community in Glasgow.
The future is bright for gaelic football in Scotland with the sport rapidly growing and we encourage anyone to come along and give our sport a go or get involved as a volunteer!
The club is very proud of the recent acheivement of expanding our underage section, forming the juvenile team in 2014, the club fielded an U14 team. They have now spent a significant amount of time introducing the sport in local schools such as Whitecrook Primary, OHR, St. Stephens, St. Eunans, Clydemuir, Linnvale, Clydebank High, and St. Peter the Apostle. Our Juvenile section has been an amazing success and our kids have done us proud every single time they have pulled on the red and white jersey.
In the past number of years, our community has grown significantly--now fielding three adult mens teams (Senior division, Junior division, and Homegrown), two adult ladies teams (Intermediate division and Homegrown), and two juvenile age groups (U11 and U13). We look to continue to expand our offerings and our successes on and off the pitch.
More importantly, Glaschu Gaels aims to expand and nurture their youth system and become an integral part of the community of Clydebank.
